Barbara Ann Ervin

Barbara Ann Ervin, 79, of Nitro, WV passed away on April 2, 2024, at the Hubbard House West after suffering a short illness. She was born in Charleston, WV and was retired from Verizon after 31 years of service. She began a second career and was a cashier at the Fruth Pharmacy in Nitro and only recently retired after 13 years of service. If you knew Barb, you would quickly know she was an avid lover of Elvis Presley, Disney World, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Cincinnati Reds. She made numerous trips over her lifetime down to Orlando beginning in the early 70’s and she would cheer on the Steelers or Reds and would never miss a game. Over the past several years she was diagnosed with cancer and faced that challenge with strength and a positive attitude. It was during that period, her faith in God became a great source of hope and gave her peace in knowing she had placed her life in His hands. She was small in stature but great in spirit and it was her strong spirit that kept her going right up until her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond & Mary Copenhaver. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Richard Myers and his wife Brenda and Raymond Myers and his wife Tammy all of St. Albans, WV. Her sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and George Ramella and her niece, Nikki Wall and her husband Brad all who now reside in Georgia. She was blessed with 7 Grandchildren, Samantha Pineda, Amber Byrd, Christian Myers and his wife Kyley, Hannah Harvey and her husband Josh, Caleb Myers, and Alec Myers. She also has 14 Great Grandchildren and 1 great niece and 1 great nephew all whom she loved greatly. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Cunningham Memorial Park St. Albans with Pastor Randy Stanley and Pastor Terry Hogue officiating. The family would like to thank the staff of CAMC Neuro ICU as well as the staff at Hubbard House West for the care they provided over the past couple of weeks.
