Acacia "Casey" Stribling

Acacia “Casey” (Currey) Stribling, 96 of Riverlawn, St. Albans went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. She was born in Charleston to the late Earl and Gladyce Currey on December 10, 1927. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Bill Stribling; son, Daniel Stribling and brother, “Bicycle” Bill Currey. Surviving Casey are her children, Ann Layne (Gary) of Guadalajara, Mexico, Sam Stribling (Lynn) of South Charleston; grandchildren, Mathew Stribling (Lori) of Moore, SC, Kristopher Stribling (Angie) of St. Albans and their mother, Jan Stribling, Cheyenne Layne, and Faithann (Nahum) Layne all of Guadalajara, Mexico and Jonathan Layne (Gina) of St. Albans and many great and great-great grandchildren; loving sisters, Susan Rock, Bobbi Fisher Tabor, Ruthann Taylor and Betty Layne. Casey had a very full and productive life. She was a longtime active member of Cross Lanes Bible Church and recently attended Riverlawn Presbyterian Church. She was involved with Beautification of St. Albans, St. Albans Garden Club, St. Albans Renaissance Group and Charleston Community Music. Christian Women’s Group and she led the Sassy Single’s ladies for years. Her main love was sharing her riverfront home with groups, friends and families. She had worked for C&P Telephone Company, Avon and St. Albans Monthly newspaper. Her daughter, Ann along with husband, Gary, their three children and ten grandchildren serve in ministering to the deaf in Mexico. Casey spent many months during 40 plus years, sharing in that work. Casey also was privileged to serve in many countries with missionary teams. She was extra fond of serving in Africa. Acacia was buried in Teays Hill Cemetery, St. Albans. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Cross Lanes Bible Church, Cross Lanes with nephew, Gary Johnson and son-in-law, Gary Layne officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Casey was buried in Teays Hill Cemetery, St. Albans. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to The Gideons International Processing Center, PO Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251. Bartlett-Nichols Funeral Home, family owned and located at 409 Sixth Avenue, St. Albans is honored to serve the Stribling family.
