Charles William Eshenaur

Charles William Eshenaur, 82, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 25, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV. Charles was the sixth of seven children born to the late Roy Walter and Marion Gast Eshenaur in Point Pleasant, WV on April 27, 1941. On December 22, 1963, he married Pauline Carder Eshenaur who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his son, Mark Emerick. He is a graduate of Point Pleasant High School, Class of 1960 after which he attended Linsly Military Institute for 2 years. Charles was an electronic switching foreman for C&P / AT&T / Verizon. Charles enjoyed recounting, describing, and elaborating on all aspects of telephone communications; it wasn’t just a career, it was a passion. He is a member of the Gideons which fit his mission of ensuring that everyone had a Bible. As a member of the Red House Bible Church, he enjoyed serving as the secretary and fixing anything needing a repair. He is survived by his wife Darlene Cochran Eshenaur; children, Matthew Eshenaur (Bobbie), Annette Eshenaur Kiser (Bill), Steven Eshenaur (Lori), Phillip Eshenaur (Amber), and Chad Chandler (Kristin); grandchildren, Andrew, Aaron, Victor, Miciah, Kia, Ty, Eva, Claire, Kate, Walter, Kaylee, Lathan, Cody, Ty, Jack and Lindsey; great grandchildren, Alice, Emma, Oaklynn, Sawyer, and Everleigh.; Gideon family; church family; and many other extended family and friends. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Thursday, January 4, 2024, followed by the service at 12:00 pm at Red House Bible Church located at Warner Lane, Red House, WV 25168, with Pastor Gregory Blake officiating. A graveside service will be at 3:00 pm on Thursday January 4, 2024 at Kirkland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Ohio River Rd., Point Pleasant, WV 25287 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gideons International (https://www.gideons.org) or Kanawha Hospice at 1606 Kanawha Blvd, West, Charleston, WV 25387.
