David John Farley

David J. Farley, 72, of St. Albans passed away surrounded by loved ones on April 17, 2026, after a hard-fought battle against Pulmonary Fibrosis. Dave was born on February 19, 1954, in Buffalo, NY to John Henry and Betty Clendenning Farley. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Keith Farley, and sister Judy Leach. Dave was a lifelong resident of St. Albans, part of the graduating class of 1972, and was a Catholic by faith. A gifted craftsman, Dave worked for Hatfield Enterprises, served as owner of D&M Builders, and finished his career at Creative Kitchens. He was always willing to lend a hand, tool, or advice to whoever needed it. He loved to remind you, “Daddy’s here!” as he stepped in to do whatever was asked, and no ask was ever too big. His legacy is carried on in the knowledge, talent, and ability he shared and taught to his coworkers and family alike. Dave’s favorite pastime was entertaining friends and family in his “Garage Mahal”, especially during football season where he cheered on his West Virginia Mountaineers and New England Patriots. A well-rounded sports fan, Dave was also a talented golfer. Above all, Dave is lovingly remembered as a devoted and reliable husband, father, provider, protector, supportive and proud of his family. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Dianne; twin sister Suzanne, sister Sharon Prather, children Scott (Hannah), Jaime (Jason) Haught, April (Jay) Kemplin and Amy (Brian) Eiler, grandchildren Hunter and Hayden Haught, Kruz Farley, Amber (Jeff) Makowski, Casey (Madisyn) Kemplin, Aidan and Nadia Eiler; great-grandson Jack Makowski, and nephew Jason Leach. A celebration of Dave’s life is at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Bartlett-Nichols Funeral Home in St. Albans, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
