Janet Lou (Morris) Brubaker

Janet Lou (Morris) Brubaker, 85, of St. Albans, WV, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Brookdale Charleston Gardens. She was born in Marietta, Pennsylvania to the late Harvey J. Morris and Ethel R. (Baker) Morris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay Harold Brubaker; and sister, Fern J. (Morris) Roland. Janet was a graduate of Palmyra High School in Palmyra, PA. She retired as Communications Coordinator at Terradon Corporation and was a member of the Riverlawn Presbyterian Church, the St. Albans Garden Club, and the Ladies of St. Albans Club. She enjoyed many years of wonderful friendship, laughter, and travel with her Red Hat Society circle of friends. Janet was a patriot and had a profound love for America. She strongly believed in the greatness of our country, traditional values, and the duty to safeguard our freedoms. Her high-spirited strong will and self-assurance will certainly live on in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Janet had a lifelong love of music and shared this passion with those she loved. Her home was always filled with singing and music when the family gathered with her - cue “Country Roads”! She was also an avid sports fan and especially loved cheering on the Florida Gators after enjoying the Spurrier years with Jay as newlyweds at the University of Florida. Surviving are her children, Leigh Brubaker Anderson (Chris) of Irwin, PA and David Jay Brubaker (Laura) of Waxhaw, NC; sister, Gloria R. (Morris) Meyer of California; brother, Steven E. Morris of Delaware; grandchildren, Mallory, Lydia, Owen, and Maxwell; and a host of friends. A service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held at 2pm Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Riverlawn Presbyterian Church, 2008 Pennsylvania Avenue, St. Albans with Pastor Chris Kilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
