Patricia Sue Chapman

Patricia Sue Chapman lived a life defined by faith, resilience, love and grace. Born March 23, 1944 and called home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2026 after a 30-year long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Patricia was a devoted Christian who loved God deeply and carried that faith throughout every season of her life. She was a dedicated wife, mother, Gramma to her grandchildren and GiGi to her great grandchildren. She worked as a customer service representative at AEP for 25 years. Prior to that she worked at C&P Telephone Co. as a long-distance operator for 5 years, starting shortly after graduation from St. Albans High School in 1962. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Denson Parker; mother, Mildred Margarete Parker; and sister, Mary Lou McComas. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Walter Vernon Jr.; her son, Walter (Rosie) Chapman III of Temple, TX; daughter, Jennifer (Garry) Smith of Hurricane, WV; her grandchildren - Haley Chapman (Devin Thomas), Brianna (Matt) Barnett, and Colt Smith, Jeremy (Britany)Taylor, Joshua (Mariah) Taylor, and Roel (Brittany) Garza; 2 great-grandchildren who brought her so much joy - Owen Barnett & Bodhi Thomas; and her 4 sisters and 3 brothers: Ruth Ann Parker Davis, Elaine Parker McClaugherty, Doug (Nancy) Parker, Rebecca Parker Rushing, Susan Parker Schieve, Jeffrey Parker, and Thomas (Christy) Parker; and many nieces and nephews. Today, while our hearts grieve, we also take comfort in knowing that her suffering is over. The body that failed her for so many years has now been made whole. As Christians, we believe she is walking again - restored, healed, and at peace in the presence of the Lord. A service was held for immediate family.
