Virginia Louise "Ginny" Dryden

Virginia Louise “Ginny” Dryden, 93, of St. Albans, WV passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the home of her son Paul. She was the daughter of the late Robert Boyd Tweedy and Viola Eubank Tweedy. Also preceding her in death was her husband Walter Joseph Dryden; granddaughter, Whitney Leigh Dryden; sister, Betty Lucas. Ginny was a 1950 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School. She retired from Charleston Area Medical Center with over 35 years of service. Most of her career was in labor and delivery at CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital where she was the work mom for many of the nurses. She was a Baptist by faith having attended Calvary Baptist Church, Charleston, Highlawn Baptist Church, St. Albans, and more recently as a member of The Crossing Church, St. Albans. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and never missed a game of her two sons even though she worked the night shift. She had a love for Walt Disney World in Florida where she visited many times over the past 40 years with her son Joe and his family. Surviving are her two sons, Joseph Dryden (Megan) of Lebanon, TN; Paul Dryden (Judy) of St. Albans; brother, Robert “Bob” Tweedy of St. Albans; grandchildren, Hannah, Michael, Samuel, and Hudson; great grandchildren, Bentlee Kalp, Rohmyn Kalp, and Alexa Toler; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Bartlett-Nichols Funeral Home, St. Albans with Chaplain Pete Thompson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
