Robert DWayne "Bobby" Hapney

January 6, 1965 - October 17, 2021

Robert “Bobby” D. Hapney, 56, of Charleston, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 after a short illness. Robert was born January 6, 1965 to the late Forest and Kathlyn Hapney in Charleston. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Tori Ann Hapney; and brother, Tom Hapney. Robert was a graduate of Charleston High School. He held many jobs in the maintenance field within the Charleston area, working for Thomas Memorial Hospital and CAMC. But his best job was being a Dad to Justin. Bobby leaves behind a lot of memories to a whole host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and family. Surviving are his “wife” and caretaker Catrina Hapney of Charleston; son Justin Hapney of Charleston; sister, Sara Voigt of Florida; and brother, William Hapney of Charleston; mother-in-law, Kathy Cottrell of St. Albans; father-in-law, Michael Young of Indio, CA; sister-in-law, Chelsey Hamilton of St. Albans; nephews, Andrew and Alijah Hamilton of St. Albans; brother-in-law, Charles Young (Heidi) of New Haven, MI; nieces, Vickie, Lillie and Olivia Young of New Haven, MI; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a celebration of Bobby’s life at 6:00 pm Saturday, January 1, 2022. Location will be posted as it is available.
