Rodney A. Hizer

Rodney A. Hizer, 55, of St. Albans passed away February 18, 2019 at his residence. Rodney was owner of H & M Home Improvements, St. Albans and was also a courier for FedEx. He attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Albans. He was a graduate of Paden City High School, where he quarterbacked the 1979, Class A State Championship Wildcats Team. For years, he was also a SAHS football coach. He was an avid Steelers, Mountaineer and Nascar fan. Rodney often volunteered his time and building expertise to the community of St. Albans. Although a busy man, he was always there for his family and friends, who he loved very much. He especially loved being “Poppy” to Brynn. He will be greatly missed by many. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Lee Hizer; brother, Chuckie Hizer. Surviving are his daughter, Amanda Belesky (Bryan); son, Tyler Hizer (Morgan); granddaughter, Brynn Belesky; mother, Veronica “Bonnie” Hizer; sister, Angi Hizer McDonald; brothers, Tim Hizer (Carolyn), Randy Hizer and Bobby Hizer (Kim); his loving girlfriend, Denise Brindley. Also surviving are several cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends may visit from 6 to 8:00 pm Saturday, February 23, at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Bartlett-Nichols Funeral Home, St. Albans with Rev. Father Patrick M. McDonough officiating.
