Carol Marie Chandler

Carol Marie Chandler, 49, of St. Albans went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 16, 1968 in St. Albans. Carol graduated from St. Albans High School, class of 1986 and went on to become co-owner and manager of Greg Chandler Frame and Body Shop, St. Albans. Carol and Greg Chandler were together for over 30 years. Greg stood by Carol’s side during her three and a half year battle with cancer, as he was her safety blanket through the toughest time of her life. Carol was loved by many and touched hundreds of lives. She often took others under her wings and helped those in need. She believed in the glory of God and is now at peace. Carol was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Midge and Roy Chandler; and her grandparents, William and Lucy Hensley. She is survived by her loving husband, Greg Chandler; son, Michael Chandler (Taren) of St. Albans; daughter, Tiara Chandler of St. Albans; two grandsons, Griffin Chandler, Blake Goodson, respectively; parents Dorothy and Shellie Gillispie of St. Albans; brothers, Bobby Gillispie (Mary) of Hurricane, Shellie Gillispie of St. Albans; sisters Lucy (Harold) Hazlewood of St. Albans, Joann (Jeff) Racer of St. Albans; uncles Luther Hensley, Chester (Rhoda) Hensley, both of St. Albans; sister-in-law Sandy (Cliff) Conner of Cross Lanes, and Debbi (Rick) McKean of St. Albans, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Carol was like a second mother to J.R. (Samantha) Webb (nephew) and Cody Jeffrey (cousin). Carol shared a special bond with her first cousin and best friend, Sandy Cunningham. She was very close to the wonderful work crew at the body shop, especially her office team Becky Lacy, Tabitha Miller and Kierston Brown. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans with Dr. James R. Wright Jr. and Pastor James Wright officiating. Entombment will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
