Jim Fletcher

Jim Fletcher , 67 passed peacefully with loved ones by his side, Monday, March 25, 2024 in Key West, Florida. Jim is survived by his loving partner of 50 years, David Fleshman, sisters Barbara Quentrill (Ronnie) and Lisa Rogers (Pete), Nieces Ashley Dunham (Zack) and Haley Rogers, Nephews Tommy Bennett (Aimee), Jacob Bennett, Michael Atkinson, and Matthew Atkinson (Amber), Sister-In-Law Teonia Atkinson, and one uncle, Roger Evans. Jim was born on August 11, 1956 in Charleston, WV to the late James C. & Rosalie Evans Fletcher; Brother, David Michael Atkinson, Brother-In-Law, Lyonial Quentrill, Grandparents, and several Aunts & Uncles. He called Charleston his home throughout life but would later find a second home in Key West, Florida. Jim was a Charleston business owner for nearly four decades. He and David were the original owners of Food Among the Flowers on Quarrier Street. Jim had a heart like no other and was always the one to help others. He loved his community and gave back to it in so many ways. He provided a safe space for those in the LGBTQ+ community with The Broadway and Lee Street Lounge. His “kids” from both places will miss him dearly. He was an avid supporter of many organizations such as the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association, Rainbow Pride of WV and Hospice Care here in the Kanawha Valley. A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the Valley View Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 2466 Main Street, Hurricane, WV. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held on the same day at 4:30 p.m. at Lee Street Lounge, all family and friends are welcome.
