Richard Steven Kosior

Richard Steven Kosior, 63 of Saint Albans, West Virginia took his first breath in paradise on September 15th, 2023. Steve was born on November 29th, 1959 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, the son of Richard Lewis Kosior and Shirley Irene (Harvey) Kosior. A graduate of Shenango High School Class of 1978, he was an athlete and played football his entire childhood. In 1986, on a hot summer evening at Mother Fletchers in Myrtle Beach, he met the love of his life, Karen. Steve and Karen married on October 31st, 1987 and his life as a Mountaineer began. He would share 36 years of love and family. He was employed by Toyota of Buffalo where he became friends with so many that he dearly loved. Steve LOVED his state of West Virginia and LOVED his country. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and would do these things in a family owned camp in Marlinton, WV along the beautiful Greenbrier River where he passed along the love and knowledge to his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed fitness, working out, running, cycling and most of all, his greatest hobby outside of all this was he and Karen's boat "Dragonfly.” He was strong, stubborn and steadfast in his beliefs and in life. But more than anything, if one had to describe the greatest joy he found in life, it would be in his family. This world will never know such a selfless kind of love again. When he was placed into our lives 36 years ago, he was everything this family needed and more. He was our "Oak Tree;" strong, constant and never wavering in the wind. He didn't just leave behind a mark on this earth, he left behind a legacy that will live on forever through the family he grew. Steve was preceded by his parents Richard and Shirley Kosior; sister, Marsha Blash (Kosior); and brother, Scott Kosior. Left to carry on his memory and legacy is his wife Karen Lee Kosior (Cavender). Children; Rhianna Gail Harless (David), Savannah Lee Collins (Mark) and Jansen Michael Arnold and Emilee Gail Arnold. Pawpaw's Grandbabies; Kellen Wayne McClure and Elizabeth Foster, Steven Lee McClure, Jacob David Perry, Mark Emerson Sanders, Conner Michael Perry, Charlee Ann Arnold, Isabella Grace Sanders, Landon Michael Elijah Arnold, Brody Jeffrey Perry and Lincoln Averol Perry. Sister; Sonia Kuzynski Steve had many nieces and nephews and family and friends, but he had an extra special bond and love with his nephews Will Simmons and Jason Cavender. A celebration of Pawpaw Steve's life will be held at 11am, Friday, September 22, 2023 at Bartlett-Nichols Funeral Home. The visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service.
